Why You Never Find What You Saved

You have a graveyard in your pocket and you built it one tap at a time.
Every reel you bookmarked at midnight. Every link you texted yourself during a commute. Every voice note you whispered into your phone at a traffic light. Saving an article gives you a small dopamine hit. You feel productive. Informed. Organized. You haven't consumed a single word, but your brain already collected its reward for the "productive" action of archiving. The article goes into the pile. The pile grows. You never look at the pile.
This isn't a character flaw. It's a design pattern. Every save button, bookmark icon, and share-to-self gesture in existence is optimized for the moment of capture. The moment of retrieval is an afterthought, if it's a thought at all.
Tsundoku, but make it digital
The Japanese have a word for buying books you'll never read: tsundoku (積ん読). The stacks accumulate on nightstands and shelves, a physical monument to curiosity outpacing capacity.
